Affiliate Marketing Advice You Can Count On!

By Admin Under Affiliate Marketing

Let’s get right to it and start by answering the question; What is Affiliate Marketing?

The most basic definition of Affiliate marketing is that it’s the process of promoting the products and services of other people or companies for which you earn commissions on sales.

Essentially you find a product or service you like in a niche you have an interest in, and promote it to others via any number of different marketing channels, which can include; SEO, PPC, blogging, social media, display ads, email lists, and many others. You earn a certain percentage of the profit for each sale you get.

This is a win/win/win situation for all:

  • The product owner is happy because they got a new sale that they probably would not have gotten otherwise.
  • You are happy because you made money.
  • The customer is happy because they got something they were wanting or needing.

There are affiliate programs for just about any niche or industry you can possibly think of, so there’s almost always something to promote. That makes starting an affiliate business quite simple.

Now, let’s look at a real life example of affiliate marketing (featuring yours truly)…

At the time of writing this there is a new internet marketing product launching in a few days called the “100K Factory Revolution” and I am an affiliate for this product.

So, I created a video and a blog post to review the product. Here is the video which also contains a link to the blog post:

If you watch the video and subsequently go to the blog post review that it is directing you to visit, you will then see links to the product itself. If you feel this is a product that could benefit you then you will click on the link and buy it. If you do that, I will earn a commission for the sale (and I truly thank you for it).

That is a live example of affiliate marketing for you. Pretty cool, isn’t it?!

One of the best things about affiliate marketing is that you don’t have to invest all the time and effort into creating a product/service to sell or deal with updates, customer service, refunds, and all that other stuff nobody likes to do. You can literally start selling something as an affiliate today if you really want to!

This is something I have been doing as a part of my online business pretty much since I started it way back in 2003. Affiliate marketing has been very good to me and I truly think that just about anyone can do it successfully if they are willing to put in the effort. It’s not difficult, but it’s not easy either.

Here are 2 things I Have Found to be Very Important for Affiliate Marketing Success:

  1. I personally only recommend products & services as an affiliate that I know are high quality. These are things that either I have actually used and benefited from myself, or at the very least, I am quite familiar with the creators of it and know them to have a solid reputation of exceptional quality. If I’m not 100% confident in it or I don’t absolutely feel it will positively benefit people than I will not affiliate with the company, individual, product, or service.
  2. I rarely, if ever, straight up tell someone to purchase something. I tend to recommend things based on my own experiences, or those of people I know and trust, and in the context of what I have done or what I am doing. The decision is ultimately up to each individual on whether they feel the product is for them or not.

You don’t have to follow the same rules as I do in order to become a successful affiliate marketer. In fact, a lot of people don’t. However, I feel it is very important to your success as well as to the vendors and customers for you to be honest, ethical, and upfront in your affiliate marketing efforts. That’s how real businesses are built and sustained!

This is what has helped me grow my affiliate business exponentially over time, so I encourage you to follow along.
